The Long Meadow

This piece was featured in my first group show in May 2025 at Mills Pond Gallery in Long Island, NY! It is called the Long Meadow and was part of the exhibition "Art-Artist-Audience."

I first painted this back in November 2023, and it was my first painting after taking a nearly 6 year break from oil painting. I was very dismissive for a while of my creative hobbies, and fell into feelings of shame and frustration when i couldnt get paintings or drawings exactly as i wanted them.

I painted this painting because I simply wanted a large oil painting for my living room, and it turned out to really inspire me to keep creating. It celebrated the life with my partner at the time, and how i loved living with them in our brooklyn neighborhood, and our memories together. In hindsight it also captures the moment that kept on bringing me back to art, when you're moved by something beautiful and you just want to share it with the whole world because it feels like what you're experiencing is magic.
I felt like that showing my relationship and the nature around me.
